Batman watches are all the rage with the impressive looking Romain Jerome Batman watch featuring the bat signal on the dial, the awesome looking Rebellion T-1000 Gotham as well as the futuristic Romain Jerome Spacecraft Batman watch.
Now Russian watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin has come out with another unique creation: the Konstantin Chaykin Joker watch. Another highly unusual watch from the creator of such watches as the Lunokhod watch and Cinema watch to be unveiled at Baselworld 2017 .
The regulateur type dial has been cleverly designed to resemble the jokers face, and features two disks which represent the eyes with the pupils indicating the hours and minutes, whilst a ‘mouth’ displays a moon phase indicator, with the moon implying a tongue. As the time and moonphase changes so does the jokers expression.
Making up the overall impression are two crowns at the 9 and 3 o’clock positions which suggest ears. The crown at the 3 o’clock position is used for winding whilst the one at 9 is fixed but features a pusher used to adjust the moonphase function.
Two traditional watch-making guilloche patterns add to the whimsical appearance of the dial, the ruthenium-plated nose features a hobnail pattern and the silver-plated dial a radial motif.
The movement for the Konstantin Chaykin Joker watch consists of a module built by Chaykin himself and made up from 61 parts it sits on the sturdy ETA 2824 base automatic movement with a 38 hour power reserve.
Housed inside a 42mm wide and 13.7mm high stainless steel case, the Konstantin Chaykin Joker watch is a limited edition of 99 pieces with a retail price of €6990 available from Konstantin Chaykin
